Accessibility in Kivra

At Kivra, our goal is for everyone to be able to use our service.

Accessibility is a given for us

We continuously work to ensure that our web and mobile apps are accessible and easy to use for everyone, regardless of disability, technical skill or varying ability.

We strive to follow the accessibility guidelines according to WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and the standard EN 301 549, but we want to do more than just meet requirements – for us, working with accessibility in everything we do is a matter of course and it is part of our identity.

Some examples of what we do:

  • We actively involve users in the development process and conduct regular usability tests with, for example, people with disabilities or native speakers other than Swedish.
  • We have external experts review our service.
  • We have guidelines in our design system for how to use, among other things, color contrasts, text size and components in the best accessible way.
  • We use inclusive language and work with communication guidelines so that as many people as possible can understand and easily use our service.

Legal requirements for our payment functionality

On June 28, 2025, the Act on the Accessibility of Certain Products and Services will come into force. This means that our service, where you pay bills in Kivra, will be covered by that law.

To ensure that our service meets the requirements of the Accessibility Directive, we have taken concrete steps. In March 2025, we conducted an independent accessibility review in collaboration with an external agency specializing in digital accessibility. This thorough review resulted in a detailed report with recommendations for further accessibility improvements. We are working to implement these improvements on an ongoing basis.

Although not all of our service is affected by the legal requirement, our goal is to work to ensure that all parts of Kivra are accessible.

Supervision

Those tasked with auditing us and ensuring that we meet the legal requirements are the supervisory authority Post- och telestyrelsen (PTS).

Everything sent in Kivra

We are aware that many of our senders will be covered by the new legal requirement. Therefore, we are working to support them in the best way possible so that what is sent via Kivra is accessible to everyone. To help our senders and partners, we have developed guidelines and instructions for creating accessible PDF documents.

Support for assistive devices

We are continuously working to test and ensure that our service works with different types of assistive devices. We test both manually and using automated tools on a wide range of devices.

Kivra can be used with, among other things,

  • screen readers
  • magnification tools
  • keyboard navigation
  • enlarged text
  • dark mode
  • increased contrast

Help us improve accessibility

We are aware that parts of our website and mobile apps are not yet fully accessible, and we are constantly improving our features. If you are experiencing problems using any part of our service, we would like to know! Your feedback helps us make Kivra even better for everyone.
